No Haze Zone

While the definition of hazing may change from state to state, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority's definition of hazing, and its stance against hazing, stays the same no matter where you go!
Under the direction of International Grand Basileus, Mary Breaux Wright, of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Scarlet H. Black (National First Anti-Basileus 2012-14), was asked to develop and implement an anti-hazing initiative for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. This initiative was to be an ongoing program to address the issue of hazing within the sorority and society as a whole. On September 6, 2012, “Finer Women Don’t Haze (FWDH) Campaign” was launched as the sorority’s response to this “call to action against hazing.” It also honored the sorority’s principle of “Finer Womanhood.” The goal of “Finer Women Don’t Haze Campaign (FWDH)” was and continues to initiate discussion, recognize the issue(s), and bring attention and awareness to the hidden harm (psychological, emotional, financial, abusive, embarrassment, physical dangers, even death) and silence of hazing. The “Zeta woman in silhouette” represents the silence, unspoken, hidden, and undercover aspects of hazing.
Hazing in any form or fashion is contrary to the philosophy and objectives of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and as such, the Sorority emphatically prohibits and denounces hazing. Therefore, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority defines hazing as any action or activity which…
brings about physical, mental, emotional or psychological harm to the potential member or is humiliating in its intent;
is vulgar, abusive, physically exhausting or dangerous;
materially disrupts an individual’s academic, professional, and personal endeavors;
abridges a person’s moral, religious or dietary beliefs;
compels an individual to break the rules and regulations of her college or university, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated or other entities; or
is defined as hazing under applicable laws.
